June: Luxe Box By Loose Button

New beginnings is what I love about one month ending and another starting. June is a start to a different season (yay!!! Summer), a start to a new job(well old job but starting up again for the season), and just a new start all together. May was a blahzay kind of month with so much rain that getting out of bed to the cloudy sky and the gloomy world was unbearable at times. Lets bring on some sun. With a new month comes a new Lux Box. This one was pretty good  

This month was not a disappointment. The products are quality and there is something for everyone in this months Luxe Box

Moisturizer Madness

In the winter around December my skin was so broken out that my doctor put me on the birth control pill and topical cremes to get rid of the acne. Retinoids made my skin as flakey as a shedding snake. Red and irritated it could not be worse. So I went on a moisturizer kick trying out all different kinds. All of these are highly affordable and can be found at the drugstore.

Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion 

Cetaphil Is my first love, a moisturizer that I have been using for at least 7 years it never disappoints. The reason I discovered this moisturizer is that my cousin started Acutane for her acne and the doctor told her this was the best moisturizer to keep the skin hydrated and not dry and flakey a side affect of Acutane. The only thing about this moisurizer is that it does not do anything for the anti aging or repairing of the skin, which now that I am 23 I feel I need more than when I was 15. 

GoodStuff Organics Antioxidant Facial Moisturizer

Bought on a whim after hearing how good antioxidants and fighting free radicals is for your skin. I do not recommend this moisturizer.. hmm maybe because it does not moisturize at all. It does not sink into my skin and makes it feel tight and not supple and dewy. 

Olay Moisturizing Lotion Sensitive Skin

My new love, I wish I would of used this long before December. It is perfect for my sensitive skin (well known fact after seeing the dermatologist and the allergenist) it hydrates my face and sinks into my skin within seconds of application which is perfect for a busy on the go kind of girl like MOI. Allowing me to apply makeup immediately after. 

Olay Replenishing Night Creme

Staying on the Olay band wagon, I wanted something thick and heavy for night time that would repair all the damage left behind by a crazy amount of ointment that left my skin...  let just say more than chapped. This did the trick 

Yes to Carrots Nourishing Moisturizer 

Favourite out of all the above this will be a repurchase even before it runs out, because I can not bare to go a night without it. Left with some nasty scaring from the extreme acne I had last summer I definitely needed something full of vitamin E (a well known fact about Vitamin E is that it fades scaring over time) I have seen a difference by using this product and do have a post about the products I use that contain the oh so magical Vitamin E. This is an amazing moisturizer that is not to thick and can even be used during the day time. It smells lovely and is very cost efficient but leaves you with high end results.

An amazing collection of Nudes that M.A.C has to offer they are highly pigmented and you can find one that goes perfectly with your skin tone I recommend Blankety if you are a medium skin tone and Creme d" nude if you want a totally wiped out look and Hue for a more pale skin tone.

Drugstore lipsticks have come a long way from when my mom was younger and she keeps telling me that I do not need anything other than Revlon and Rimmel they have the best lipsticks for a very affordable price. As you can see from the swatches they are highly pigmented and go one really smooth.

Gosh- Darling

This set is a variety of different shades, from a darker nude to the lightest I have in my collection. Gosh darling a cult favourite is way to light for my medium (NC 40 in mac) skin tone, can you say ghostly pale or zombie death? But Brave new bronze from the style warrior collection that M.A.C came out with in 2010 is the best nude I have ever used. The perfect tone for my skin it glides on amazingly and looks even better. 

M.A.C Slimshine- Ultra Elegant

A darker nude that is glossy enough that you don't need to put extra lip gloss on top it is perfect for all skin types. The only problem is that it is discontinued but you can probably find it at a CCO or sites such as all cosmetic wholesale and Ebay.

First things first can we take a moment and praise the new M.A.C bags. They environmentally friendly and extremely cute, I wish I took a picture of the inside of the bag because it is my favourite colour RED!

Crushed Metallic Pigment in Summer Stash

Amazingly Pigmented and not chunky at all they are totally amazing and I would recommend these to anyone. The only thing is that it is hard to use with a brush but with your fingers the colour shows up amazingly and smoothly. 

Cheek Powder in My Paradise 

Hello can I say amazing! I love this blush I wore it today and it is definitely an amazing summer find. It is as beautiful in the pan as it is on the cheek the gold is not an overspray but seems to not go all the way through, it will last a while 

Eye Shadow in Saffron 

A very unique colour I do not have in my collection I was drawn to it immediately when I was at the store. It is an amazing brick red that is matte and highly pigmented.

Overall this collection was one of the best that MAC has come out with in a while. It has everything I love and I wish I could of afforded more of the collection but Cest Le Vie.
